Ps. Sunday Music

Ps. Love this song at the moment:)

I have, I am , I will

I love reading. My childhood hero was Matilda because I thought I was just like her (minus magical powers and horrible parents:)
For a while though I had a spell of reading rubbish, books that I couldn't even be bothered to finish. So I decided to do some research and buy some that hopefully I would love and become part of my life.
This is a chronicle of what I have so far read, what I am reading, and what I will read.

I Have : I devoured these books over the December holidays, I actually had to make myself put them down and be sociable, and I haven't read books that made me do that in ages. I read them because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about, and before the film comes out this year, and I wasn't disappointed.
I am now trying to persuade all my friends to read them so I have people to talk obsessively about them:)

I Am: Currently reading The Book Thief and its another one I think will stay with me for a long time. Its so beautifully written about a emotional subject, of Germany in the 2nd world war, and yet for all the times it made me sad it made me smile as well. I REALLY recommend this book if you haven't already read it.

I Will: I bought 2 Kazuo Ishiguro books because I had never read any of his work. I saw Never let me go about  month ago and wanted to read another one of his books so I bought this one and Noctures. This is next on my list after Book Thief, its got quite good reviews and from the back looks completely different to Never let me go so I am looking forward to trying it:)

What are you reading at the moment?
Happy Sunday everyone!

* I wish I was the son of a sailor. I really must stop buying tote bags, but this one is enough to feed my addiction:)

Spring

Yes despite the rumours of a cold patch coming our way in the Uk, I am feeling decidedly spring like, the birds are singing and all I want to do is buy large quantity's of Daffodil's. :)
Yes I admit this all may be a bit premature but I am already looking forward to the freshness that spring brings.
Now I am not in any way a 'designer' person. Most of my clothes are from charity or vintage shops and I am also fairly cheap, as I am almost always perpetually poor! But what I do love to do is to look at the runways for inspiration, and usually there are a couple of stand-out collections that make me either want to rip the clothes straight off the models body's, or I spend hours looking close up at the details and how they were made. Ralph Lauren doesn't usually fall into either of those catigorys but his S/S 12 Collection made me stop and look.

Those beautiful palazzo trousers! The gorgeous spring colours! The delicate fabrics and beading! Drop waisted dresses! Cloche hats!
I am now trying to work out what I need in my wardrobe to be able to waft through the summer in a Great Gatsby Daisy like fashion:) I think that might be why I love it so much, because it reminds me of that 1920 heady feeling. Its not really a silhouette I have tried before due to my curvaceous(!) shape, sticking to more flattering 1950s shapes, but I think this may be the summer of the flapper jess:) You were warned!
Speaking of Great Gatsby, how excited are you for the new film??? Love Casey, she is one of my favourite actresses, and I cant wait to see it!

''The one good thing about not seeing you is that I can write you letters''

This week is National Letter Writing Week:)
To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.  ~Phyllis Theroux

I Love writing and receiving letters, there really is nothing better than the expectation when receiving a letter of the joy held within:) I think is so sad that not many people nowadays take the time to write a letter, sure its easier to bash out a e-mail, but is it as fun and personal?! that would be a no.
So in honour of National Letter Writing Week  I have picked some of my favourite stationary in the hopes of getting everyone inspired.

Cabin Castles typewriter cards are so cute and just right for little notes to keep in touch.

Just LOVE Brinner's upcycled map stationary, in fact may be treating myself to this later:)

There is something so classy and Jane Austen about monogrammed stationary, Leen Machine's contemporary bright take on a classic is so cool.

Flapper Doodle's range of stationary is simply darling, I want the whole lot in pink AND white please, thanks very much :)

Happy Letter Writing everyone!
