Summer style

Its funny isn't it when you look at some of your favourite style inspiration and realise that a lot of them have a common theme.
For instance my style folder at the moment seems to have a lot of:

Half/cap sleeve,gathered skirt,dresses

I also am loving bright colourful prints, especially Polka Dots, . . . .plus its such a fun word to say. . .polka. . .poolllka. . . polllllkkkkkka :)

Mid length skirts, pleated or button down

I think my brain is trying to tell me something very important. . . that I need these in my summer wardrobe, for when the sun comes out (ha ha ha!).
So when I get a few spare moments in my unusually hectic life, I plan to whip up (love how that makes me sound so competent!!) one of each. We will see how that goes, and if they get done before winter:)
What are you loving style-wise at the moment?
If you have a Pinterest and love it as much as I do please pop a link in the comments as I love to find new people to follow!

Jersey Shore

So a few weeks ago I went with my family the Jersey, in the Channel islands.
It was a nostalgia trip for my granddad really as he grew up on Jersey, through probably the toughest times, during the German occupation in WW2. He doesn't really talk about it a lot and hadn't been back in over 30 years so it was a special trip for him, and for us grankids, who had never been before.

Obligatory squishy face photo:)

 Me and my Ma:)

The boys!

The Jersey war tunnels were an interesting visit, it was built as a underground hospital but was never finished before the end of the war. Now it is a museum about the occupation.

But the best thing about the trip was being by the sea, I love the sea and always feel more calm and recharged after a visit:) Hence my dream of living in a lighthouse one day!
Hope you guys have all had a great week and have a awesome weekend planned, mine will hopefully include some Caribbean food and a Sunday brunch:)
Happy Friday everyone!

Fairytale Food

I am a girl who loves her food. . . . .and wishes she could actually cook it! I am a rubbish cook, and its been on my goal list for the last few years to really try and get better.
Well I think that I finally have the motivation to make this happen:) its a little book called Fairytale Food.

It looks perfect. . . combines my love of fairytales and food, and is written by a fellow west Londoner!
Lucie also has a Blog full of delicious recipes from the book and from her personal collection.

The only worry now is which one to do first. . . . . . .hmmm:)

P.S The beautiful illustrations are by Yelena Bryksenkova and are so inspirational, so please check her out too!!

Mad May

I have had a bit of a mental month. . . all good but just a bit crazy:) These are photos from a couple of fun things I have done this month!!

Four of us went of to the Trozy in Hackney to see Future Cinemas Bugsy Malone. Its an amazing extravaganza in the style of the film. I have honestly never been to anything like this before and it was awesome. Actors wondered the old theatre, done out like it was Fat Sams speak easy, all dressed up. Tallula performed her famous song and gangstas went round recruiting people for Fat Sam or Dandy Dan. And then if that wasn't enough the big screen come down and the film began. Whilst the film was on certain scenes were also acted out around us
It all culminated in plates full of foam being handed round to each table just before the big fight scene and with a roar everyone joined in with the biggest foam fight I have ever had!!!! Honestly it was such a cool night and I wish I took more photos, especially of the actors all dressed up. But if you live in London and ever have the chance and want to do something fun I HIGHLY recommend Future Cinema.
(cool video Here to show you what its like:)

 Half Moon Run

 (love my brothers!)

 Jake Bugg

Next up was the Great Escape festival in Brighton. 29 bands in three days, 3 huge blisters and a lost voice later it was such a good weekend!! It is the leading festival for new music in Europe and again I would massively recommend it.

 Rae Morris

 Skinny Lister

My Top 3 performances:
Retro Stefson (big old party!)

(Massive shout out to We are augustines too who finished off the weekend for me with such a buzzing show!!)

So yeah its been a pretty awesome month. I am going away to Jersey next week with my family and I cant wait to have a bit of a breather and spend some time by the sea:)
Have a great bank holiday weekend and I will see you guys on the other side!
