Thought for Tuesday

*

After a busy weekend I am feeling a bit brain dead tonight so I thought I would just leave you with a thought for the day.
I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend here in the UK, I am personally trying to wrap my head around the thought that Friday is the last day of August!
Where has this year gone??!!

Summer in the city - The 39 steps

I have had a lovely weekend with friends, spending time down by the Southbank, dancing at the beautiful (very hot!!) Rivoli Ballroom, eating a lot of food and then finally last night dressing up to go to the theatre to see The 39 Steps:)

It was such a joyful play. Its my favourite Hitchcock anyway, but as a play I think its even better. Only 4 people play all of the characters. . . . .with a very dapper gent playing Richard Hanney, light brown curly hair and a 'rather fetching pencil moustache' :)
It was fun to dress up as well, people don't dress up for the theatre enough in my opinion.

Some nice wine in the interval:)

Ps. How amazing are my friend Mr G's trousers??? he out dressed us girls too easily for my liking:)

Hope you all had a lovely weekend? get up to much?
Happy Tuesday everyone:)

Mellow Yellow

*

I have a bit of a funny relationship with the colour yellow, a mutual respect has formed, but I would never say I really LOVED the colour. That is until now. I have gone a bit yellow crazy. . . .lemon, mustard, golden, saffron, neon all of them!

Who knows how long this affair will last ( maybe as long as our sun does!) but I am enjoying this adventure in the world of yellows:)

Stratford-upon-avon

So last weekend some friends and I took a little road trip up to Stratford-Upon-Avon (home of Shakespeare) to see The Tempest. I had never been before and in line with my Summer goals was suitably excited to explore a city I had never visited.

The play was very atmospheric, the stormy weather outside complimenting the theme perfectly. The Theater was really interesting too, redbrick green marble and old plaster.

We finished off in a old pub down the road which is a theater fans heaven, lots of the cast were just hanging around having a drink and generally chilling out:)
Is there anywhere local to you that you would like to visit but never have?
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!!:)

Style love - Ulyana Sergeenko

Ok so I have a confession to make. . .I am in love.

With this woman . . .

Ulyana Sergeenko is a Russian Photographer/fashion designer and in my eyes has the most practically perfect style. Her beautiful dresses, floral prints, red lips, and amazing silhouette make me want to look at her all day. I also love the way she acessorises with a few carefully chosen pieces that really speak for themselves. I think thats one reason I love making reworked vintage jewellery, one of a kind pieces that are special and tell a story.
Plus she manages to pull of that Russian fairytale elusiveness which I envy so much. . . .If only I could look like I live in a fairy story:)

Happy Friday everyone:)

August

Can you believe its August already??? I can't really but that might be more to do with the English weather than anything!! I feel like I need to make good use of the sun while its still here and really make the most of our short summer. So here are my goals for the next month:)

1. I want to make a circle skirt with some beautiful yellow cotton with this tutorial- and wear it while it is still warm enough to do so with bare legs.

*
2. I want to take a trip to the beach - and go in the sea no matter how cold it is:)

*
3. Get out into the countryside on some walks and visit some of England's beauty spots. . . .starting this weekend with Stratford:)

4. I think I take for granted the amazing city I live in and I am really going to try the next few months to make the most of it and try and do different things. I have some friends over this month from Canada and Italy so I will be playing tour guide anyway. It will help me view things with new eyes again!

Have you guys got any fun plans for the next few months? anyone going away?

Happy Thursday everyone:)
