Mokosha

I have spent the last few days ill:( Something is wrong with my belly and it keeps letting me know. . . . so instead of getting out and bout as planned for the bank holiday I have been in bed with my cats obsessively watching Once upon a time, Fred and Ginger movies (Tonight its Roberta:) and surfing sewing blogs.
I love sewing blogs, so much that I actually spend quite a lot of time reading them but never actually sewing:) But that is about to change. I am determined to get back on track with my goal of learning how to sew more. Especially when  I see everyone's Me-Made-May creations, I wish I was part of that, So that's my goal for next year, to spend next may wearing my creations every day.
I have a new hero in the Sewing world. . . . .Her name is Mokosha and I have big girl/creative crush on her.

Not only does she find the time to make almost ALL of the clothes above, she also is a art historian and archeologist!!! How cool is that! I want to be her friend. . . .and possibly steal all her clothes:)
The thing I love is how everything she makes is her own style, is bright colourful and just herself. Which is one of the best things about sewing right?!
Who has been inspiring you lately? Please share as I always love to find more inspiration:)
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Award

*

Recently I got a lovely message from Wendy from The Butterfly Balcony that she has passed on a Blog award to me:) Well I was really chuffed, I am still relatively new to the world of blogging and cant quite believe that people read this little corner of the internet, let alone enjoy it:) So thanks so much Wendy! Plus  I really love her blog, she has the best D-I-Ys and her stitch her style series has me browsing for hours:)

Part of the Award was to tell the world 7 things they may not know about me. . . . prepare to be shocked..!

1. I have a guilty obsession with dance films. . . .yes I love to watch break dancers, hip hoppers, and the like shake their booty:) I did a  bit of dance when I was younger and still nothing  gives me quite as much pleasure as dancing the night away, and I appreciate so much the choreography that goes into films like Step up and Honey, regardless of their cheesy dialogue!

2. I have always wanted to live in a lighthouse:) One day my dream may come true.

3. My first ever concert was Steps when I was 10, loved every minute of it and I'm not ashamed

4. I read terribly fast, I can read books in a day, especially when I get into them:)

5. I won a talent contest when I was 8 doing the River dance by myself, my nan even made the costume for me!

6. I have two cats, one of which is the silliest cat known to man. She cant walk on a fence without falling off, is almost fierce when she gives you some kitty loving and she has two front teeth that stick out that make her look really goofy:) I love her.

7. I cant cook, I can bake but not cook. I shall have to live off cake for the rest of my life I think:)

On a bit of a side note. . . .Happy Star Wars day!!!
May the fourth be with you!

I love Nan

All Available Here

Yes I have a new art crush. . . . Nan Lawson.
Seriously this girl is amazing, she somehow manages to take my favourite characters and turn them into cute drawings that I wish I had the talent to do myself.  From Sherlock to Lady mary and back to Dr Who, plus the two from Once, one of my favourite films - she can do no wrong. . . .Nan I salute you:)
Right, now I'm off to try and choose which one of these will grace my wall.. . .and do the hoovering. How domestic:)
Ps. I have just joined the crazy world of twitter, so if you so fancy please follow me at: https://twitter.com/Pink_Sun_London

So Yeah, things I love right now, take 2

Some of my favourite things at the moment:

1. Crochet Blankets - I have been pinning like crazy pictures of different crochet blankets, this one from cocorose is especially lovely.
2. Letters - I love getting letters, my friends and I try to send each other ones as often as possible which is great as a few of us live quite far away from each other. I have been collecting inspiration for my letters recently as I think I could be a little more creative with my offerings:) studiomeez is a great source.
3. Raincoats - Need a nice raincoat like this because it has truly been april showers/downpours here in the Uk the last week. Nice and simple with some wellies.
4. Seth Cohen- I have been reminding myself why I fell in love with this man all those years ago:)
5. Matt Wisniewski - Just beautiful images, quite haunting some of them. I dont think I have seen more beautiful double exposure work.See more of his work here.
6. This photo - Taken by Elliott Erwitt of Robert & Mary frank in Valence, Espagne. 1952.  just love the feel of this photo, intimate and real. Can look at it for hours.
7. This Dress - Sadly too small for me, but I am planning a Jess version for this summer hopefully:)

What have you been loving lately?
Hope you had a lovely weekend, and Happy Monday!

Napoli

We have been back from Italy a week now and I am decidedly Italy-sick.
We had such a amazing time, met some lovely people, ate some incredible food and saw some history.

I really love Naples city. I had heard before we went from some Italian friends of mine that people either love or hate it, but I thought it was really cool. It had a raw energy with its narrow streets with loads of people, washing hanging everywhere, graffiti covering the walls. I could have wondered the streets of the old town for hours.

And Pompei was impressive. Its massive, You forget that it was a town before the eruption, and a rich one at that.
I always suffer a bit from Post Holiday Blues but this time it was quite strong, I think its partly because we made some really amazing friends while we were there who looked after us, and where real kindred spirits.
I am trying to sort my life out today, get back into the swing of things, catch up on my blog-reader and hopefully do some designing for P.S later:)

Hope you all have had a lovely weekend:)
Happy Monday.

April

Ahhh April, the time of year all the flowers come out:)
I have been craving some blooms the last few days, I think I may just have to treat myself! I am rather excited today because tomorrow I am heading south to Italy for a few weeks with friends:) I am looking forward to the Pizza, Gelato and the sea! So I will be a bit quiet the next few weeks but will be back soon recharged and full of inspiration I am sure.
For Sunday Music this week I have not just one song but many! Discovered This Fleet Foxes tumbler this week and its awesome. Loads of random covers done in the beautiful fleet foxes way:) Especially love the version they have done of Phil Collins In the air tonight! So please check it out if you want some nice Sunday listening.
Happy Sunday everyone and I will see you in a few weeks:)
