Packing - Ta Ta for now:)

So This time tomorrow I will be in sunny Africa!!!!!! Its been a mental few weeks for me and its only today as I start packing that I am starting to get excited:) I am visiting a friend for a few weeks in Ghana and its come at the right time, I am ready for a change of scenery to shake me up a bit:)
That's the thing I really love about travelling, when you step back from your comfortable surroundings it helps you put your priority's in order.

Anywho I hope all you lovelies have a good time over the holidays and I will see you in 2013!!!
Whoop Whoop!

BackArt Project

So I have really talented friends:)
One such friend the AMAZING Jullyane took these photos for her Back Art Project a few months ago:)
I am only just getting around to posting them now so my back garden is looking a little less sunny autumn and more winter gray!!

P.S. Also Sara from Chalk White Arrow is modelling her Chevron necklace over on her blog today:)

Happy Monday Everyone!!

So yeah, things I love right now - Take 4

1. This Food- I have eaten this sweet potatoey goodness 2 times in the last few weeks and boy does it hit the spot!! Just Yum.
2. This Film- Mondays Movie night has been pretty 90's heavy recently, starting off with my favourite '10 things'.
3. This Poster-I actually believe this to be true, all great evil masterminds are fuelled by tea. Only I wouldn't be an evil mastermind. I would let everyone take the winters off and have giant Duvet parties where we could all snuggle and watch Wez Anderson films, or possibly even period dramas.
4. This Coat - Stella Jean's winter collection is so inspiring. Especially because this time next week I am going to be winging my way to AFRICA!!!!!! Yes its epic, and yes I am excited:) I am hoping to find some amazing fabric to make pencil skirts and swing coats with.
5.This Reminder- I forget sometimes to do this and get too focused on the future to think about the present.Must stop that.
6.This Song- I was searching for it for about a hour today. I had a vague memory of a song played on a impulse advert that was really soulful and beautiful, but took me a age to find it. Here it is, please take a minute to listen to Vera Hall, or Mama as I like to refer to her.

I hope you are all staying out of the cold and have not succumbed to illness as I have:(
Happy Monday everyone!

Black and white

There is something about Black and White photography that really captures me.
Its so atmospheric and yet seems very natural, true.
One of my goals for a long time has to be to take more black and white photos and I think its time to dust off my camera and focus on snapping more:)

Anne Siems

Word cannot really describe how I feel when I look at Anne Siems paintings.
I just want to stare at them for hours.

Anne Siems, inspired a lot by 'By illustrations from medical and botanical books' , somehow creates something quite magical in my opinion:)

Go take a look at her portfolio when you want to spend a while transported to a magical Tudor like land.
I hope you all had a cool weekend, I had a busy one and so am recovering today:)
Happy Monday everyone!!

Everything Is Fine

So this week has been busy.
That's not unusual or unwelcome, however I am looking forward to having some down time this weekend.
We are having a leaving meal for my brother tonight who is off to central America for a few months and I am trying hard not to be too jealous!!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend planned:)

Happy Friday!

Ale Sly

I Discovered Ale Slys Bags in a recent issue of Nylon and the colours made me feel happy:)

They remind me a lot of the colours, textures and fabrics I saw when I was in Brazil, so it didn't surprise me to know that although She is a Londoner, She is massively influenced by south american (Argentina is where she now calls Home) materials and culture.
Makes me crave some colour and Sunshine!!

Happy Tuesday everyone:)

D-I-Y Studded shoes

So in the western world we are pretty spoilt for shops that sell things for ridiculous prices (Primark-I am talking about you). Now I am not going to go into the pros and cons of buying from these establishments from a ethical or ecological point of view today. I ,as much as the next girl , do love a bargain, and as my budget is quite low for clothes and shoes, I do have the odd splurge, spend 30 pounds and come home with 20 odd things:)
The thing that I find I do quite a lot is try and customise the things I do buy and make them a bit more unique. Clothes this is quite easy, but when I was looking through my shoe box the other day I realised that I had about 4 pairs of ballet shoes and they all were pretty boring. This would not do. So I came up with this project, and thought I would share it with you all for Pink Sunshine's first ever

So for this easy D-I-Y you will need:

*Some Ballet pumps, the softer the material the easier it will be to put studs in them.
*Some of your chosen studs. I got mine off Ebay, there is quite a large choice so you can play around with different shapes if you want.
*Some flat nose pliers  I used my jewellery ones but I'm sure most people have some similar larger ones in their tool box:)

1. So With your lovely studs (I got the pyramid ones) roughly lay out your design on your ballet pump.
Have a play round and when you get them how you want you are ready to start studding:)

2. I always start with the centre stud as I find its easier to get them straight then. Push the stud through the material of the shoe and then using your pliers bend the points under the inside of the shoe, making sure all sharp points are fully flat to the shoe. Then you wont get stabbed wearing them:)

3.Once you've done that carry on with the rest of the studs until you are happy with your design. I found that I had to bend the points slightly to get the studs to sit next to each other when I was pushing them through, but if you take your time you can make sure they all lay straight:)

Ta Da!

And there you have it:) A fast easy D-I-Y for your shoes.
I have to admit that I may become a little addicted to studding things, I cant seem to stop. . . . . .

Happy Sunday everyone:)

Winter featuring Orla

So it happens every year, we reach November and suddenly all I want to do is curl up in my bed in my P.J's and hibernate till spring. Preferably wearing a vast array of woollen items. But then I pull myself together and try and find inspiration to get me back excited about clothes again. I was doing this today and remembered the Orla Kiely show from London Fashion week all the way back in the spring.
At that point no one is thinking abut winter dressing, but now its my perfect dressing inspiration.

All Via :Kris Atomic

The setting of a Tea dance was just perfect. I wish I was one of these girls being twirled round in a pretty dress. And that makes me want to be a bit more creative dressing again. Inspiration at its purist.

Not to self: Buy some cute little T-bar shoes and glittery socks like the ones you had when you were 5.
Great, Thanks:)
